Facebook is the most known website for social networking. Many strongly agree that Facebook has its problematic issues with invading privacy and feel like its no longer sacred. Members, daily if not constantly change their status and others in an instant know what’s going on with them or what they are planning for their weekend. The Newsfeed traces every step you take on commenting a picture to even reading what others have written on the walls of friends. Just last week, on the second of September, Facebook proclaimed its 100 million members and each and every one of them has a right to know your relationship status, your interests and who your friends are. Members can have unlimited accounts, one for personal use and other accounts for business .Having an account with Facebook might decrease your chances of finding a high well earning job because of the incriminating pictures and details that are posted. Some suggest that Facebook’s “social utility” reduced the amount of personal interaction with friends and family. Instead of people using Facebook chat to catch up with old friends, they are numerous ways in which people can get updated for instance a phone call or a visit. While Facebook has it cons it also has it pros. Facebook could draw millions of young voters to politics and easily can be influenced by simply joining a group and going to there events. This way teenager’s can be more vocal in voicing their opinions. Additionally, Facebook provides thousands of ads on different areas such as different types of diet/ nutrition plans or job openings. Furthermore, Facebook members can sell products on line earning profits. Most importantly, members must know how to manage their accounts safely as possible and not to exceed on personal details.

Facebook has both negative and positive aspects to it. I believe that there are much more positive aspects to Facebook then negatives. Anything that someone posts up in Facebook is because they want people to see it. If people are really concern about privacy they shouldn’t post things that they don’t want people to know or see.
I believe that Facebook isn't entirely a bad social networking site. Facebook can be used for many purposes. It can help one start a business or it can also inform the audience about upcoming events such as the elections. In my opinion, people who are concerned about their privacy shouldn't join the site.
In the class, we discussed the advantages and disadvantagea of the facebook. I think things always have the positive parts and negative parts. It is not necessary to eliminate Facebook if we use it appropriately. But I think the most important to remember is do not easily trust that what the stranger said.
Your Facebook account can be seen by 100 million people. Wrong! You can easily set your Facebook to be a private account, much like Myspace, so then only the people you decide to friend can view your profile, and things you do. Also, when someone friends you, you can select a feature that allows that friend to view your profile, but will not be able to see everything you do on their news feed. If you choose to ignore these features, then yes, Facebook can be see by millions upon millions of viewers and violate your privacy. If you choose to select these features, then Facebook can be a way for you to only keep in touch with old friends from elementary, middle and high school. If you don't want someone to see your profile, for example, a person you have never ever met before, or heard of, simply deny their friend request. Privacy problem solved. The only other solution I can think of would be to not have a Facebook. Most people now a days know what Facebook is, and all the features on it, including the news wall. They can either not get an account, or get one for a test ride, and if they really dislike it that much, you can delete it (probably much easier than dealing with all the "problems"). Thanks for tolerating my rant and have a good night.
Again, only your friends can see you on Facebook; so no, not everyone has the right to know your relationship status, interests, or friends. Only the people you choose to have as friends can actually feel lucky enough to be able to see things about you they probably already know. And actually Facebook could increase your chance of finding a good job because there are now companies that hire through such websites. Which also goes back to my original point that only your friends can see your “incriminating” pictures. If you’re dumb enough to put those pictures up in the first place when you knowingly have your supervisors as your friends…in that case those people deserve to either get fired or not hired at all.
I agree with what Steve and Sylvia said. If you do not want 100 million of people see your Facebook you could set it as a private account. And for the people who do post their information openly are in their own risk, many people do not have an idea of what people can do with the day of birth and the name of a person that can be find easyly in Facebook, many of them could become victims of Identity Theft. But then if everyone in Facebook set their accouns in private, then Facebook would not be this Famaous webside where you can make friends of your friends and search for old friends online since you can not really see their Facebbok.
Facebook has some useful attributes as a social networking site. But when used as the only way of socializing it is a problem. It takes aspects such as nuiance and subtly out of a conversation. I make an example, a conversation should require some effort, like how a craftsman spends years to perform his craft right. Conversation should not be easy, like a factory worker throwing a switch or a button.
